There are astronauts and then there are space walkers. Only three Canadians have donned space suits and stepped into the void 400 km above the Earth to perform zero-G construction work on the International Space Station.

Join the host of CBC Radio's Quirks and Quarks, and 2015 Snider Lecturer, Bob McDonald, LLD’15, as he tells the tales told by Chris Hadfield, Steve MacLean and Dave Williams about the years of training in the worlds largest swimming pool, fighting against a suit that doesn't want to bend, handling tools while wearing hockey gloves, all the while floating weightless in space with the most spectacular view imaginable of our planet passing below.

After the lecture, join the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada under the stars for a viewing of the night sky. Weather permitting.
